Why? It was mainly because the incense had brought all these monsters out and awakened them. That meant this forest was filled with many invisible magnetic fields, allowing Ye Chen's voice to travel through them.
Twenty minutes had passed. Ye Chen had kept watch, but nothing seemed to be happening, so he gave up on that approach. As expected, it hadn't worked.
Just as Ye Chen was feeling thoroughly frustrated, he spotted what looked like a large pit up ahead. It clearly stood out from its surroundings, so he walked over.
There was nothing inside the pit, but its shape resembled a bagua symbol. Two small black and white spheres in the center seemed to be raised.
For some reason, Ye Chen found himself walking toward the pit as soon as he saw it. When he noticed the black and white spheres on the bagua symbol, he couldn't help thinking they looked like buttons—like they could be pressed.
With that thought in mind, Ye Chen walked over. Just as he was about to press the white sphere, he reconsidered. Could this be some kind of mechanism? Better be careful.
He grew more alert, cautiously approached the white sphere, and pressed it lightly before immediately jumping away.
Awkwardly, nothing happened. No mechanism triggered, and nothing unusual occurred. Ye Chen turned his curiosity to the black sphere instead.
He cautiously approached the black sphere and carefully pressed the black button. Then he quickly darted to one side.
Once again, no mechanism appeared as he'd imagined. But with a clunk, it sounded as though something had opened.
Ye Chen heard it too and walked over to the bagua diagram. The black section had opened, revealing a pattern inside.
Ye Chen studied the pattern closely. It had to be something important, since it had
