Breaking the Seal

Zijing stared at the pitch-black seal around the evil creature, still shaken as she said, "It's a good thing we got here early. We can strike before the creature breaks free. If we'd delayed any longer, it might have been too late."

Uchiha Chen was perfectly calm, but Zijing didn't share his confidence. She didn't know much about his abilities. She only had a rough idea that Chen might be a powerful ninja, but she had no real sense of just how strong he was.

She was only an ordinary miko. How powerful was Chen? Even he didn't know for sure. Ever since he had fully assimilated the Ten-Tails' power, he had never tried going all out.

How could Zijing possibly know how strong Uchiha Chen was?

"If there are no problems, I'll go break the seal." Zijing glanced at Uchiha Chen, making one last check before the battle.

"Go ahead." Chen nodded. "Don't worry. Break the seal, then focus on preparing the sealing jutsu. There's no way the creature will escape."

Uchiha Chen had complete confidence in his strength. Unlike Zijing, who barely understood what he was capable of, she didn't know the power of ninjas. She couldn't understand that Chen was now strong enough to rival the Ninja World's most powerful god. Even if the creature escaped, it probably wouldn't be able to make much trouble.

Zijing looked deeply at Uchiha Chen, nodded, then stepped away. She felt around the nearby cliff face, and before long, her hand found a hidden mechanism.

Zijing pressed down hard. In the valley, where there had been no path, a bridge slowly rose from the middle.

Feeling her way forward, Zijing stepped onto the bridge. Chen followed close behind, ready to protect her if the creature attacked the moment it broke free.
