After a long period of effort, Son Goten had almost unlocked three Kaioken skills: Reduced Consumption, Burst, and Suction.
Only the last one remained. His top priority was to improve Kaioken and even unlock its Hidden Attributes, so he immediately spent his remaining points on the next skill, an unusual combat technique called Response.
But after unlocking it, Son Goten couldn't feel any difference. He only sensed some change in his energy, though he couldn't quite explain it. Once he had recovered, he stood there.
If the skill description was right, and his speed really increased when he released Kaioken, then it might be very effective. But he still had to test it.
"Light, attack me."
Light was surprised by his master's command, but he immediately threw a punch. His Combat Power was still close to a thousand, far beyond what Son Goten could handle.
Son Goten could only leap backward.
Light wasn't using enough power to kill him, either; he was keeping it close to Son Goten's level. So although the punch looked immensely powerful, Son Goten dodged it. The instant he released Kaioken, the fist was right in front of him, yet Son Goten felt his body grow much, much lighter and immediately moved aside.
Light's vision blurred. Son Goten had vanished, much to his surprise.
By the time he could see clearly, Son Goten was already standing to the side. Even he was surprised by how his body had changed in an instant. His speed and perception had both improved dramatically. It seemed like the sort of effect only Four Times Kaioken could produce—or perhaps even more.
What exactly was this feeling? It left him utterly astonished.
Perhaps this was another way to fight. He couldn't rely on transforming every time. A brief, massive increase in speed
