The sound of a metal baton striking metal rang out, making Su Mu jump. His body trembled on instinct. This body was terrified of that sound; it had developed a conditioned response.
A moment later, several tall, muscular Black men came in from the brighter area and passed murky, viscous liquid into each metal cell.
When they reached Su Mu's cell, one of the Black men said,
"Hey, boss, this Yellow Monkey is still alive. What a cockroach—he just won't die."
The boss, a bald man covered in menacing tattoos, glanced coldly at Su Mu, then warned his subordinate,
"Don't touch him for now. The deal's coming up soon. If his organs die, they won't be fresh, and the price will take a big hit."
"Yeah, yeah, I know..."
The Black subordinate nodded and bowed in acknowledgment of his boss's order. Then he shot Su Mu a vicious look, instinctively rubbed the wound on his palm, and ground out,
"Kid, you're lucky..."
"Organ trafficking!"
Once the men had gone, Su Mu immediately pieced together what was happening from their brief exchange. Then a sharp pain struck his brain, and a flood of broken memories poured into his mind.
The original owner had also been named Su Mu. He was an ordinary college student who had suddenly awakened mutant powers a month ago. Using them, he had escaped unharmed from a burning building.
He had survived the disaster, but his luck hadn't improved. A few days later, his parents discovered his mutant abilities, despised him for them, and kicked him out of the house.
After that, a mysterious organization hunted him down. By chance, a Hell's Kitchen gang had kidnapped him and locked him in an unknown underground prison.
That Black man was the one who had captured him. When Su Mu resisted, he had nearly bitten a chunk of flesh out of the man's hand.
Because of that, the Black man had taken extra "care" of him afterward.
Looking at the skin beneath his collar, covered in wounds that had festered and were still oozing blood, Su Mu figured the original owner had died because of them.
But that wasn't the most urgent danger. In a week, the gang would trade with another underground organization. Their batch of "merchandise" would be slaughtered like livestock, their organs harvested.
And this was the world he knew: Mutants, Stark Industries—wasn't this the incredibly dangerous Marvel Universe?
Even if he survived the crisis ahead, how could he avoid The Snap, which would threaten the entire universe?
Su Mu didn't want to gamble on a fifty-fifty chance!
Besides, was this the movie universe or the comic universe? If it was the movie universe, he might have a chance to struggle through. But if it was the comic universe...
Su Mu shuddered.
As for the original owner's superpower...
If it were powerful, the underground gang wouldn't have been able to kidnap him!

After that, he unzipped his pants and pissed a foul-smelling yellow liquid into the bowl on the floor.
Su Mu's indifferent expression, as if he were looking at a dead man, made Jim furious. The wound on his palm was throbbing too.
But remembering his boss's warning, he forced himself to hold back. He didn't dare disobey the boss's orders, so he could only leave after tossing out a threat.
Su Mu watched Jim's back in silence, staring after him for a moment before turning away.
Looking at the yellow liquid scattered on the floor and the murky gruel, Su Mu backed away even though the liquid was still some distance from him and hadn't splashed onto his body. He decided that tomorrow, he'd give this Black man a proper welcome too!
His body was hungry, but Su Mu absolutely refused to drink the unknown gruel tainted with yellow liquid. Instead, he began studying his newly acquired abilities.
He moved to a spot where his body blocked the dim wall lamp behind him. Then, disguising his movements with a cough, he secretly struck the glass covering it and shattered it.
He hid the glass in his sleeve, then touched the lamp filament with his finger. Everything depended on this!
After obtaining the Six Eyes, he felt he could control energy with greater precision, and that his Energy Absorption ability had changed as well.
When his finger touched the filament, the Six Eyes let him control the energy precisely. He absorbed the electricity and heat, and his Energy Points slowly began to rise.
