Chapter 10: Reverse Cursed Technique "Hollow"

Though he knew full well that a brute carrying a dwarf on his back was definitely suspicious, the Space Blade was too fast—even the Six Eyes' dynamic vision couldn't track it.

Despite his desperate evasion, Su Mu was severely wounded, nearly cut in half.

He immediately reached forward, using Azure to create an attractive force behind the Brute.

The immense pull dragged the Brute backward. The already crumbling wall could no longer withstand the tremendous pressure and shattered.

The Brute was sent flying into the shop behind him, triggering screams from the many customers inside.

This uncharged attack couldn't harm the Brute at all. Even the dwarf clinging to his back was well protected, suffering no injury whatsoever.

The Brute climbed to his feet, dusting off his clothes. Ignoring the surrounding civilians, he looked at Su Mu, whose chest and abdomen were gushing blood, and sneered cruelly:

"Foolish wretch. A spatial slash—how do you plan to deal with that?"

With that, he strode toward Su Mu, ready to fulfill his earlier promise: break Su Mu's limbs and deliver him to Colonel Stryker.

As for whether Su Mu might die here and Stryker would blame him—that was impossible.

Colonel Stryker hated mutants with a burning passion. Why would he be angry over the death of a tool?

On a nearby rooftop, two groups faced off.

One side was the X-Men's Cyclops and Storm; the other was the Brotherhood of Mutants' Juggernaut and Mystique.

They had encountered each other while searching for Su Mu and fallen into conflict.

Cyclops pressed his hand against his visor, ready to remove it at any moment and unleash an interdimensional laser beam at Juggernaut and his companion. He said coldly:

"Su Mu is fresh blood for mutantkind. There's no way we'll let you brainwash him!"

Mystique stood behind Juggernaut, dodging the threat of an incoming beam. Hearing Cyclops's words, she retorted:

"Mutants are the superior race. Humans are nothing but ants. A talented mutant like Su Mu should join the Brotherhood. We'll guide him onto the right path!"

"The right path—terrorizing and destroying everything in sight?"

Just as the tension reached its peak, Storm suddenly broke the stalemate:

"Look! Su Mu's in trouble!"

Everyone present was drawn by Storm's words. Their goal here was to recruit Su Mu. If something happened to him, this mission would end in failure.

They looked down and saw Su Mu nearly cut in half by the Space Blade.

"What?!"

They couldn't believe it. While they had been arguing, their target was about to be killed by Stryker's underling!

Even if Su Mu's performance hadn't met their expectations, a mutant they wanted to recruit being killed right before their eyes was something none of them could tolerate.

Cyclops was already preparing to remove his visor. Storm's hair began to rise, her pupils turning white. Juggernaut assumed a charging stance.

They would save Su Mu before the Brute could kill him.

Though the injury was severe, there were mutants with healing abilities among their kind. Combined with technology, as long as treatment came quickly, he could still be saved.

But the scene that followed made them freeze in place, staring in shock at the grievously wounded Su Mu.

He had another mutant ability!

The Brute sneered as he slowly approached Su Mu.

He planned to break Su Mu's limbs, then deliver him to Colonel Stryker.

Colonel Stryker had imprisoned many mutants, including some with healing abilities. As long as Su Mu had even a breath left, he could be revived.

If he died on the way—so be it. Stryker wanted mutants stronger than himself. A mutant he had already defeated had no value at all!

But after just a few steps, he stopped. Pointing at Su Mu in utter disbelief, he stammered:

"Y-you... how? How is your wound already healed?!"

From a distance earlier, with the dust from the collapsed wall partially blocking his view, the Brute hadn't seen Su Mu's condition clearly.

Now, stepping out of the dust cloud and drawing closer, he saw Su Mu's nearly bisecting waist wound healing at an astonishing speed.

By the time he noticed and stopped, the last trace of the injury had fully closed.

He stared in disbelief at the white-haired man before him. Terrifying spatial defense, an attack power as fearsome as a black hole, impressive physical ability, and now this incredible regenerative power...

Was this really a mutant?

Even Magneto and Professor X weren't this powerful!

Could it be—was he a legendary Level 5 Mutant?

The situation reversed abruptly. Under the excited gazes of Cyclops and the other mutants, the fearful stares of the massed soldiers, and the terrified eyes of Brute, Su Mu grinned again and said:

"I've changed my mind. Even if you cry and apologize now, I won't spare your life."

"You..."

Brute looked at Su Mu but dared not step forward.

His trump card was the dwarf's spatial attack on his shoulder—the only ability capable of breaking through 9527's defenses.

Now that this ability had failed, he was no longer a match for 9527.

He immediately grabbed the dwarf by one arm, lifted him in front of his face, and roared:

"Release the Space Blade again, right now! Kill him!"

The Space Blade clearly drained the dwarf heavily. After unleashing it just once, his entire body trembled nonstop and his face turned pale.

But under Brute's pressure, the dwarf once again released a Space Blade at Su Mu.

The dwarf's Space Blade consumed immense energy, but its power was equally tremendous, and its speed was astonishing.

This time, Su Mu was already prepared, yet he was still struck—an entire arm and part of his shoulder were nearly severed.

But with the help of the Reverse Cursed Technique, his wounds healed at an astonishing speed.

This time, Brute witnessed the entire process of Su Mu's recovery. Watching Su Mu mend a fatal injury in just over ten seconds, all will to fight drained from his eyes.

He immediately hurled the dwarf in his hand toward Su Mu, fled into the distance, and ordered the surrounding soldiers:

"Stop him!"

Brute had no courage left to face Su Mu. He chose to run.

Though failing the mission would incur Colonel Stryker's severe punishment, there was still a sliver of a chance to survive—far better than facing this monster before him!

Watching the dwarf fly toward him, Su Mu used the Six Eyes to observe. The dwarf could no longer release another Space Blade.

So he reached out with both hands. Under the dwarf's despairing gaze, terrifying pressure completely tore his body apart. Blood splattered everywhere and spilled onto the ground. He couldn't even let out a scream.

Yet not a single drop of blood landed on Su Mu. The blood spraying toward him floated in midair, just like the bullets suspended around him—unable to approach him by even a hair.

Then Su Mu looked in Brute's direction. A large number of fully armed soldiers were firing at him wildly, while Brute had already run far away.

If he ignored them, Brute would surely escape. So he made a decision.

He extended his index finger, aimed it in Brute's direction, and said calmly:

"Cursed Technique Reversal: 'Hollow'!"
