Level 5 Mutant!

[Six Eyes lv2 (1/300): Possesses a 360-degree long-range field of view, can see the flow of energy, has astonishing dynamic vision, and allows the user to perform precise energy manipulation.]

After the Six Eyes leveled up, its 360-degree long-range vision was enhanced twofold, increasing from the original 200 meters to 500 meters.

Of course, this was the range within which he could observe clearly—where he could distinctly catch tiny targets, see the exact flow of energy, and track movement with exceptional precision.

If he was merely seeing things vaguely, then his vision extended even farther. But like an ordinary person, he could only see them without making them out clearly.

Besides that, reaching lv2 had awakened another ability: X-ray vision!

His Six Eyes could now see through around ten centimeters of steel plating and observe what was inside. Unlike the Byakugan, which showed everything in black and white, he could see things in color—and with extreme clarity.

"Doesn't this mean I can..."

Having so easily obtained one of the superpowers he had wanted most in his previous life, Su Mu suddenly found it rather anticlimactic.

"Hm?"

Suddenly, through his expanded field of vision, Su Mu saw several drones speeding toward him.

Farther away, he could see a fully armed unit advancing rapidly behind the drones.

This definitely was not retaliation from Kingpin, nor was it the work of some gang. How could they possibly possess such sophisticated equipment?

This was military force—most likely a secret unit specialized in capturing Mutants!

In just a brief moment, the drones had drawn near. Su Mu flashed a savage grin at the cameras mounted on them, and then the Azure Black Hole swallowed every drone.

Afterward, he reinforced his body with Cursed Energy and quickly left the area.

From the original owner's memories, Su Mu knew that this unit included Mutants who had joined the military, and their strength could not be underestimated.

Even with the Limitless Technique, facing all sorts of strange and unusual abilities was not entirely safe.

This was when he was growing at his fastest. There was no need to stubbornly clash with the military.

What he needed now was to continuously absorb energy and raise his template fusion rate. Once he awakened the Reverse Cursed Technique, he would have nothing left to worry about!

Inside a concealed military base, countless screens lined the walls.

Suddenly, several screens went dark almost simultaneously. This indicated that at least several drones had been destroyed at the same time within an extremely short span!

Noticing this, a stern middle-aged man with the rank insignia of a colonel and a vicious gleam in his eyes asked the soldiers:

"What happened?"

The soldier immediately stood and reported to the middle-aged man:

"Colonel Stryker, something unexpected happened while we were capturing Number 9527. The target appears to have undergone a Secondary Awakening and developed another Mutant ability!"

A sharp glint flashed through Stryker's eyes. He then walked over to the screens and told the soldier:

"Pull up the footage from before the drones were destroyed."

The soldier immediately displayed the footage recorded before the drones were destroyed on the largest screen.

The drone flew forward, and before long, a tall, thin, white-haired man appeared on the screen.

When the drone stopped in midair and faced the white-haired man, the man grinned at the camera. Then, an Azure Black Hole the size of a basketball formed in his hand and shot toward the camera at incredible speed. The screen immediately went black; the drone had presumably been destroyed.

The recordings from the other drones showed the same thing. That unknown Azure Black Hole moved with astonishing speed, destroying every drone in the blink of an eye!

Colonel Stryker's expression turned grave. He had some impression of Number 9527, because his ability was identical to that of an extremely powerful Mutant from decades ago.

That Mutant had been a terrifying existence capable of absorbing nuclear energy!

However, Number 9527's energy had been too weak. He could not even fully absorb the kinetic energy from an ordinary person's punch, so Stryker had not paid much attention to him.

He had not expected that, upon reappearing now, Number 9527 would have awakened another ability.

He replayed the footage several times before finally pausing it on the Azure Black Hole.

The offensive power of this black hole was obviously formidable. It could easily tear through metal and destroy drones.

And Number 9527 had displayed another ability as well: an extraordinarily broad sensory range.

He had been waiting for the drones from the beginning, which clearly meant he had detected their approach long ago.

Moreover, Number 9527's changed white hair and azure eyes had also piqued his curiosity.

The footage played again, stopping on that savage grin.

Colonel Stryker revealed a cold smile and gave the order.

"Capture 9527 at all costs. He has great research value! Dispatch Experiment 1085 and 1086 to assist with the capture. 1086's spatial attacks should be able to break through 9527's defenses!"

After issuing the order, he muttered to himself:

"A provocation? Then I'll grant you your wish!"

1407 Graymalkin Lane, Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, inside a hidden laboratory.

Jean Grey handed a report to Professor X.

"Professor, we've detected unusual movements from Stryker's forces. They appear to be mobilizing most of their manpower to capture a mutant designated Number 9527!"

"9527?"

For the same reason as Stryker, Professor X had a deep impression of the mutant Stryker had designated Number 9527.

It reminded him of the most powerful enemy he had ever faced—the Black King, Sebastian Shaw.

Thinking back on it now, if they had not been lucky, he and Eric likely would never have been able to kill him!

But Number 9527, the Chinese-American young man named Su Mu, had an extremely low upper limit to his abilities. Even among Level 1 Mutants, he was exceptionally weak, with powers that were practically useless.

That was why Professor X had not paid much attention to him, nor had he immediately invited him to join Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

Yet now, he had unexpectedly seen Su Mu's name among Stryker's targets.

Professor X understood Stryker. If Su Mu had no value, Stryker would never spend so much effort trying to capture him.

For Stryker to concentrate his forces on the matter now, Su Mu must have undergone some mysterious change.

So Professor X immediately used Cerebro to search for Su Mu's location, intending to invite him to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters before Stryker could reach him.

But...

"Why can't I detect Su Mu's consciousness? I could clearly sense it before..."

Even Jean Grey, who possessed limitless potential, could not hide the existence of her consciousness from him.

Could it be...

Professor X suddenly realized something. Could Su Mu's mysterious change be related to this?

It could actually block his mental intrusion and even make him impossible to detect...

Did Su Mu possess the potential to become a Level 5 Mutant?

Or had he already become a Level 5 Mutant?

With that thought, Professor X immediately said to Jean Grey:

"Search for Su Mu with everything you have. We must contact him before Stryker and Eric do, win him over, and bring him into Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

Su Mu—he may very well be a Level 5 Mutant!"
