After Tang Miao arrived at the Advanced Class, he looked at his classmates and noticed things had changed again. Some familiar faces were gone, and new ones had appeared.
As soon as he sat down, Little Fox Dongfang Hui came over to him.
Seeing her excited expression, Tang Miao asked, "Did you eat a bee's poop or something to be this happy?"
Dongfang Hui, who had been beaming, turned ashen upon hearing Tang Miao's words.
"We haven't seen each other all Summer Vacation, and you're still this annoying?"
Tang Miao chuckled and replied, "Isn't this just to get Miss Dongfang's attention?"
They had known each other for half a year, and Dongfang Hui wasn't foolish enough to believe Tang Miao. Tang Miao had teased their Homeroom Teacher a few times, but with her, their relationship had always been strictly that of classmates!
Pouting her little lips, she snorted, "How come I can't tell?"
She had the appearance of a flirtatious little vixen, yet she carried herself with a cool demeanor. Tang Miao found it a bit boring and asked, "Is there something you need?"
Seeing Tang Miao ask, Dongfang Hui happily replied, "My Beginner Magic has reached Level Two!"
Tang Miao had initially thought this girl had figured things out and was making a move. He had even planned where they would go on a date that evening, but... "That's it?"
Dongfang Hui felt displeased by Tang Miao's reaction. "What do you mean! Isn't that enough?"
Tang Miao shook his head and said nothing. After all, he was already close to reaching the Intermediate Mage realm!
Dongfang Hui was a competitive girl. The reason she wanted to surpass Tang Miao was because the Imperial Capital's Top Academy only offered opportunities to the top students from each region, with others having to rely on their regional rankings.
Therefore, to get a better cultivation environment and resources, she had to work hard.
But Tang Miao's attitude made her very unhappy. She felt looked down upon!
Her pride wounded by such disregard, Dongfang Hui angrily asked, "Do you look down on me? Dare you have a match!?"
"Isn't it forbidden for those under eighteen to have magic duels?"
"You..."
Dongfang Hui was momentarily speechless. She snorted a few times and then left, heading to another seat.
Tang Miao looked at Nan Li beside him, who was one of the top ten in this Advanced Class. He asked, "This guy always wants to surpass me. Do you know why?"
Nan Li and Tang Miao had a decent relationship. Upon hearing Tang Miao, he explained, "You don't know about the Imperial Capital Academy's student recruitment, do you?"
"No."
Tang Miao had no intention of going to the Imperial Capital, so why would he care about that?
After Nan Li explained the Imperial Capital Academy's enrollment process, Tang Miao finally understood why she had been trying to surpass him ever since he had bested her... It was because of this!
"So that's how it is."
Knowing the situation was worse than not knowing. Tang Miao had thought his own brilliance had sparked her competitive spirit, and perhaps she might even improve further later on...
But now it seemed that wasn't the case. She was just afraid he would take her spot...
All his long-held expectations had amounted to nothing. How could he not be disappointed?
Indeed, to win a girl's admiration, without some incredible achievements, everything else was fake!
Just then, their Homeroom Teacher, Li Li, walked in. She looked at everyone and said, "Students, this is our fourth semester. Everyone's strength has improved significantly, but you only have a year and a half left until graduation. If you want to attend a good academy, you'll need to work hard during this time."
"..."
After Li Li's speech, which was filled with encouragement and pressure, she began to discuss today's lesson.
The lesson was, as usual, about familiarizing themselves with various known Demons and how to deal with them...
Tang Miao had never been interested in Theory Class. He was either cultivating or sleeping. During Casting Class, he would practice control. Even with his Innate Talent, after Stardust to Nebula, he still needed to accumulate Star Seeds. So, practicing whenever he had free time was beneficial.
Of course, he was still hard to satisfy; his Meditation Cultivation time was simply too short...
After the morning classes ended, Tang Miao stopped Dongfang Hui, who was about to leave. Although many people in the classroom noticed, they couldn't interfere with the commotion between these two.
After everyone had gradually left, Dongfang Hui finally spoke, "Why did you stop me?"
"Are you planning to apply to the Imperial Capital Academy?" Tang Miao asked directly, without beating around the bush.
Dongfang Hui nodded, not denying it, and confidently said, "I will definitely surpass you by the time we graduate!"
Tang Miao smiled mockingly, "I'm already close to Level Three. Where do you get your confidence?"
"What!?"
She was somewhat surprised but didn't doubt him at all. She didn't think Tang Miao would lie to her... and it seemed unnecessary, right?
Despite feeling disappointed, Dongfang Hui persisted, "So what? There's still a year and a half left, and I will definitely surpass you."
Tang Miao smiled, looking playfully at the girl striving for her dream. "How about this, I'll give you an opportunity. Spend a night with me, and I'll give you my spot?"
Upon hearing this, Dongfang Hui clenched her Jade fists and struck out, "Go to hell!"
Tang Miao easily dodged and stepped back a few paces.
At this moment, Dongfang Hui had decided to use Magic!
Seeing this, Tang Miao quickly said, "Stop, stop, stop! I was just kidding!"
Seeing Dongfang Hui looking at him warily, Tang Miao shrugged, "I'm not planning to leave the Magic Capital. I'm going to Pearl Academy, so I won't compete with you for a spot. Therefore, you don't need to try and beat me every single day."
Dongfang Hui finally let down her guard, then said with some disbelief, "You mean you're not going to Imperial Capital Academy?"
Tang Miao nodded and added, "I've never intended to leave Magic Capital."
Dongfang Hui asked again, "Then why didn't you just go register at Pearl Academy?"
"Come on, I'm just a Beginner Level mage, what am I registering for?" Tang Miao actually wanted to go to Pearl Academy, after all, the resources there wouldn't be any worse than here!
But he was only at the Beginner Level right now, so there was no chance for him to go.
"Don't you know that Pearl Academy recruits Lightning Element students regardless of their level?" Dongfang Hui stared intently at Tang Miao and said softly.
"What did you say!?"
Upon hearing this, Tang Miao froze, then looked at Dongfang Hui in shock, unable to believe it, "Is this true!?"
PS: There will be more campus stories. The early parts are just to transition the levels. I originally planned to have Bo City with the protagonist, but staying with the protagonist the whole time isn't as good as the original work, so I won't start with the protagonist.
Also, although the protagonist knows all the plot points, I've set it up so he only remembers the general outline. However, things like who the boss is, he's selectively ignored.
Just read on slowly. As for the female leads, there won't be a shortage, but it won't be love at first sight. As for who they are, we'll have to wait until the contract is signed and check the character list!
This is my first time writing Full-time Mage, so please bear with me if anything is off. If you don't like it, feel free to leave~
