"I understand, Brother Han," Yan said seriously.
Brother Han? Whatever. Bibi Han gave him two more books—one was the Complete Encyclopedia of Martial Souls, and the other was the Complete Encyclopedia of Soul Beasts.
"Don't attend theory classes from now on. Just finish these two books. They contain extremely detailed descriptions of soul beast age ranges and weaknesses. Return them when you're done, and I'll speak with the teachers."
"Oh, and don't damage my books. You're not allowed to write notes in them, either," Bibi Han added.
"Why?"
"No reason. If you dare make even a single mark in them, I'll chop off your hand." Bibi Han's tone was exceptionally serious, making it clear to Yan that he was absolutely not joking.
Both books had notes in them—lots of them. They had all been made by Bibi Han and Qian Renxue while they read together. How could he let Yan ruin something so meaningful?
"Train hard and beat Hu Liena," Bibi Han offered as a final encouragement.
Hearing Bibi Han say that, Yan's fighting spirit flared fiercely, and an image of the goddess throwing herself into his arms appeared in his mind.
At that moment, a figure stepped out from the shadows. It was Hu Liena. Her eyes brimming with tears, she asked Bibi Han, "Why?"
Bibi Han had long known Hu Liena was there. The Blue Silver God's scouting ability was no joke. Part of what he had said was specifically for Hu Liena to hear, so she would stop bothering him.
Bibi Han's expression did not change as he replied indifferently, "Why what?"
"Why do you hate me so much? What did I do wrong?!" Hu Liena asked sorrowfully and indignantly.
He recalled the miserable lives of ordinary people described in Douluo Dalu 2 after Spirit Hall's downfall—countless civilians slaughtered by Evil Soul Masters.
Bibi Han directly roared, "Shut up!! You don't deserve to ask why!!"
"And besides, I don't like you. I could never like you!"
Hu Liena staggered back two steps upon hearing that, then burst into tears again and ran off.
"Nana!" Yan wanted to chase after her as soon as he saw it.
"Stop. If you want to win the beauty's heart, don't chase after her," Bibi Han said.
Yan truly stopped.
"After this blow, Hu Liena should change somewhat. Good luck, Yan. If you have any questions, come ask me." Then Bibi Han left.
Over the next few days, Yan changed greatly. He no longer attended theory classes in the mornings, and in the afternoons, he ignored everyone else and focused on training. Still, he would occasionally seek Bibi Han out for guidance. Hu Liena changed somewhat as well. As far as Bibi Han knew, she no longer came to bother him. He was too lazy to learn anything else.
Five months later, Yan broke through to rank 39 before Xie Yue did and excitedly ran over to thank Bibi Han. Bibi Han himself was also nearing rank 38.
One day, just as the afternoon combat drills were about to end, the Dean suddenly arrived and called the entire class together.
"Students of Golden Class, maintaining the stability of the continent is the duty of us at Spirit Hall. This time, Your Majesty the Pope has assigned us a mission: wipe out a Bandit Group that has committed every kind of evil in the region. You will set out tomorrow morning and destroy them. Can you do it?"
"Yes!" the entire class answered firmly.
Standing among the crowd, Bibi Han thought, The enemies in this training definitely won't be weak. Mother probably arranged powerful opponents for me.
The next day, everyone boarded the carriages. Rather than riding with Hu Liena, Yan got into the same carriage as Bibi Han.
"Brother Han, I want to ask something. Why do you always wear only this one coat?" For five whole months, Bibi Han had worn that same blue trench coat. No matter how good-looking it was, wearing it for so long would eventually become tiresome.
Bibi Han did not answer. Instead, he took off the blue trench coat and tossed it to Yan. "Catch."
"Ah!" Yan cried out miserably and collapsed to the ground. He was not injured, but his hands were numb.
"Brother Han, you wear this while training every day!"
"More than that. My shoes weigh one hundred jin. The bracelets weigh fifty jin. I just didn't wear them today."
"Damn." Yan could not think of any words that could convey the shock in his heart. Shoes weighing one hundred jin—how was anyone supposed to walk in those? Just thinking about it was terrifying. He also understood that when Bibi Han had fought the two of them last time, he had not used his full strength at all. Otherwise, it would have been nothing but a one-sided slaughter.
After several days of travel, they finally arrived.
On a dark and windy night, the teacher leading the group said, "Students, today will be a rehearsal for the battlefield you will face in the future. Teachers will protect you in this battle, but don't think that having teachers around means you can rest easy. If you encounter a stronger opponent and lose the will to resist, then there is no point in saving students like that. Better not to let them endanger their future comrades!"
"Do you understand?" the teacher asked seriously.
"Understood!"
"That mountain. Go, children."
"Everyone, stay concealed," Bibi Han ordered from the front, his gaze fixed on the small stockade glowing with firelight ahead.
Blue Silver Domain. A wave of blue light spread outward. Once the Blue Silver Domain was activated, not even the slightest movement within five hundred meters of the forest could escape his senses.
"A domain!" some of the more knowledgeable students exclaimed.
"Shut up! Do you want the enemy to discover us?" Yan growled.
"Don't worry. Sound won't carry within my domain."
"Li Brothers, Zhang He, and Xiong San, come here," Bibi Han called to those behind him.
"Brother Han."
"You four are Agile Attack System Soul Elders. There are four guards at the Bandit Group's entrance, all low-level Soul Grandmasters. Kill all four without making a sound. Do you understand?" Bibi Han's tone was firm and forceful; it was clearly an order.
"Understood." Though they were dissatisfied, they did not say anything due to Bibi Han's formidable strength.
They performed Martial Soul Possession—their martial souls were a leopard, wolf, and cat—and shot off with a swoosh.
Watching the sentries have their throats slit without a sound, Bibi Han could not help but sigh. Spirit Hall's Golden Class truly lived up to its reputation.
"Move out. Groups of five. Break in. Aside from infants in swaddling clothes and the civilians captured by the Bandit Group, kill them all."
Bibi Han was the first to rush in with a dagger in hand, silently slipping into a room. He slit the throat of the Soul Master sleeping soundly inside.
Bibi Han did not hesitate or show the slightest mercy. He had killed before in Gengxin City. Some of those scum Soul Masters from the first and second rows had been people Ghost Douluo ordered him to behead. Back then, he had vomited all over the place.
"Ah—!" A shrill scream rang out.
"Enemy attack! Everyone, engage the enemy!" A voice came from the deepest part of the stronghold, mixed with fluctuations of Soul Power.
Bibi Han directly killed the last Soul Master in the room, tossed aside the dagger, transformed into a hammer, and went outside to continue fighting.
All the Soul Masters in the stronghold gathered together. With a sweep of the Eye of Truth, Bibi Han saw that there were more than sixty Soul Masters left. The strongest was a Soul King—a standard lineup.
There were also three Soul Ancestors, several Soul Elders, and a whole bunch of Soul Grandmasters. This Bandit Group was actually quite strong. No wonder those useless nobles of the Heaven Dou Empire had been unwilling to act.
"That Soul King is mine!" Bibi Han shouted, taking off his outer robe.
"Spirit Hall bastards, die!" The Soul King's martial soul was a long blade, and he charged at the nearest Spirit Hall student.
At the critical moment, the hammer Bibi Han had thrown blocked the long blade. Then, he used the vines of Blue Silver Grass to pull that student back to our side.
"Together." Bibi Han raised his hammer again and charged the Soul King.
