Shi Yangyu wasn't sure why it took half an hour to load the first time he entered the game.

But during those thirty minutes, he had managed to figure out the rules.

Simply put, the game's designer seemed to have an extreme case of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Every detail in the game was designed to replicate reality down to the smallest detail. For example, players had to eat and drink, bathe and clean themselves, and even pee and poop.

Not only that, players also had to sleep and rest, and recover and receive treatment when injured.

He could have put up with all those restrictions, but the real problem was that he couldn't log out whenever and wherever he wanted??? That was just baffling.

The Game Rules said that to log out, players had to return to their designated room. Otherwise, they'd be responsible for the consequences.

And if a character was badly injured, their ability to move would be greatly reduced. They could even die from an infected wound, unlike in ordinary games, where a character could run around just fine as long as they had even a sliver of health left.

If a player's character died, the player had two choices: create a new character or choose to be reborn. But rebirth required waiting half an hour, and the player would lose all their equipment and the physical fitness they'd trained up. They'd also return to the starting location.

In short, the game had been designed entirely around reality. Its physics and chemistry engines were exactly the same as the real world's.
