Deep in the quiet night, the bright moon hung high, its clear radiance spilling over the streets and alleys. The stone-paved road was covered in a thin layer of frost, giving off a cold gleam.
The shops along the street had all shut their wooden doors tight. Cold wind brushed past, and the lanterns beneath the eaves swayed lightly, their light and shadows flickering.
In the distance, the Yunxiao Mountain Range hid within the night, its outline hazy, like a dormant Giant Beast. No human voices could be heard in the town, only the wail of the wind, with a few dog barks occasionally drifting over before quickly dissolving into the silence.
Inside the Yang Family Winery, Luo Zhen had just finished counting the wine stored in the cellar and was preparing to return to his room to cultivate.
