As Dizang, this approach was simple and heavy-handed, but it couldn't really be called authoritarian. He had probably read the room and realized that if things kept escalating, Tiangang Big Shot would lose face and the situation would inevitably spiral out of control. At that point, Old Niu would be the only one who could be sacrificed.
Old Niu might have been a rough sort, but he had a group of fierce fighters under his command. And despite not being much for flattery, he wasn't a bad person—he was honest and upright.
Losing someone like him because he had talked back to Tiangang Big Shot would be a tremendous loss for Kengtou Base. Losing one person wouldn't affect the overall situation, but the blow to the morale of the entire base would be immeasurable.
So though Dizang's approach seemed crude, it was really meant to defuse the situation. He had given Tiangang Big Shot a way out, given Old Niu a way out, and saved face for everyone involved.
"Master, Old Niu's a lout. What he did was completely out of line. I don't think we should let him off lightly. He needs to reflect on his actions and be given a little warning," Dizang said to Tiangang with an indignant huff.
Tiangang smiled thoughtfully. His smile was mysterious and full of meaning.
He understood Dizang's intentions, of course.
"Then let him reflect on his actions," Tiangang said calmly, setting the tone.
Old Du saw that Old Niu had been restrained but not punished, and couldn't help feeling dissatisfied. But he knew better than to push his luck.
If he kept going, he might only make things worse—and could even provoke Tiangang Big Shot.
