The thought gave Mido quite a shock. The more he thought about it, the more it seemed likely. Given the degree of control these evil creatures displayed, they clearly weren't being controlled remotely.
The Sky Swallowing Clan was also skilled in the art of control. Control on the level he was seeing could only be done at close range. At a greater distance, a controller's Mental Strength couldn't possibly cover the target so thoroughly.
But by the time he figured that out, it was obviously too late.
When Mido looked back toward the battlefield, he was stunned. Qikai, who had been the most conspicuous figure in his frenzied state, was now standing motionless like a colossal statue. Mido could even hear Qikai's thunderous snores from this far away.
Had that guy actually fallen asleep?
And it wasn't just Qikai. Vast numbers of the Underground Race, including the King Generals, had suddenly collapsed in every direction, as though they'd all been put under some kind of spell. Every one of them was asleep.
The evil creatures, however, were still as vicious as ever. They didn't show the Underground Race any false courtesy just because they'd fallen asleep. Without the slightest mercy, they charged forward and devoured them one after another.
Like a rising tide, the evil creatures quickly overwhelmed the Underground Race's forces. Only a few in the distant outskirts had escaped the reach of this bizarre spell. In the central area, almost no one had been spared.
Even Qikai, with his powerful Titan bloodline, had fallen into a deep sleep. And his enormous, mountain-like body stood perfectly upright, as though his legs had been anchored deep in the earth.
