Escalating the Conflict
Since war was destined not to solve the problem, peace would sooner or later become an option—the choice the Underground World had to face.
Perhaps Multi-pupil Grand Scholar couldn't yet openly advocate for peace, but he knew that as the time became ripe, he might well become a member of the peace faction.
Once he joined the peace faction, he wouldn't need to agonize or worry about betraying the Underground World. Wasn't pursuing peace also in the interests of the Underground Race?
Of course, the Underground World hadn't yet been beaten into submission. At least within Titan Academy's system, Jiang Ling Grand Scholar, the undisputed leader, hadn't been brought to heel.
Unless the Chief Grand Scholar showed some sign of changing his stance, he absolutely couldn't declare his position openly. Otherwise, the Chief Grand Scholar would make sure he paid for it.
Fortunately, Surface Humans hadn't pressured him too much, nor had they demanded that he take a clear stand for peace. Multi-pupil was somewhat grateful for that.
Losing to Surface Humans was one thing, and being pressured was another. But Surface Humans had still allowed him to save face and left him a way out, for which he was grateful.
Multi-pupil Grand Scholar returned to his quarters, summoned several trusted subordinates, brought along a Gold Ribbon Grand Scholar, and set off for the territory of Five Elements Academy.
He didn't want to spend any more time at Titan Academy, either. Once the various Golden Clans heard the news, they would surely come to the academy and badger him endlessly. They might even interrogate and berate him from every angle.
As a Purple Gold Ribbon Grand Scholar, he wasn't afraid of those Golden Clan fellows. He simply couldn't be bothered to argue with them.
