"I am Huangfu Ying of the Huangfu Lineage in the Fourth Pillar Heavens. I am heading to the Third Pillar Heaven to seek refuge. Passing through here, I thought I would stop to rest and recuperate. I mean no harm."
Huangfu Ying offered a brief explanation.
Then she looked at Chen Lin again. "Since you are not from the Third Pillar Heaven, my friend, you must also be from the Fourth Pillar Heavens. Surely you did not come from one of the other Pillar Heavens?"
Chen Lin still said nothing, but he began to ponder.
From what she said, a Pillar Heaven seemed to be a designation for a region, much like a continent. But he had no idea why they used such an odd name, or why they were numbered.
This woman was clearly exceedingly shrewd. Extracting detailed information through roundabout questions would probably be difficult. After some thought, he simply gave a vague answer. "I am neither from the Third Pillar Heaven nor from the Fourth Pillar Heavens. I cannot disclose the particulars. If you wish to rest here, feel free, so long as you do not disturb my secluded cultivation."
With that, he flew away.
Chen Lin had retreated in order to advance. If she came looking for him again, things would be much easier.
If she did not, he could always approach her when she was about to leave.
