A wisp of Chen Lin's Primordial Spirit entered a dim space, and a voice immediately rang out.
His heart tightened, and he immediately examined his surroundings.
There was nothing in the space except the figure of a woman with a pair of enormous wings. She was very indistinct, her features impossible to make out.
The woman held a scepter whose tip emitted a faint, milky-white glow. In its center, however, was a black hollow, as though a piece were missing.
Its shape and size matched the Blue Hexagram exactly.
Chen Lin had never expected this treasure to conceal such a secret. At first sight of the phantom, he thought she was Hua Ruyu and nearly severed the portion of his Primordial Spirit he had sent inside.
After examining her carefully, however, he realized they were not the same.
Aside from both having wings, their appearance, bearing, and even the artistic conception they radiated differed greatly.
"Who are you?"
The phantom had not attacked him directly, so Chen Lin did not withdraw his consciousness. Instead, he attempted to communicate.
"You have obtained the Crystal of Protection. Become my Divine Envoy, and you will receive the shelter of the law of protection. Are you willing?"
The phantom did not answer Chen Lin's question. Instead, she spoke softly again, asking him to become her Divine Envoy.
Her tone was gentle, conveying a deep sense of goodwill.
But Chen Lin did not dare agree.
Divine beings were even harder to deal with than immortals. The slightest carelessness could send him tumbling into a pit.
