Half an hour later.
The Silver Fairy stopped in her tracks and gazed into the distance.
Chen Lin and Mu Linglong looked over as well.
Above a distant sea of flowers, a figure was fleeing frantically, with three others hot on their heels.
The Silver Fairy raised her Silver Spear slightly, seemingly about to strike, but then gently lowered it.
The four figures flashed past and vanished into the distance.
"Hmph! These so-called disciples of the Seven Major Sects really are treating this place as a hunting ground. They've gone too far!"
Mu Linglong stared in the direction the figures had disappeared and spoke angrily.
"The strong devour the weak. It has always been so. If you don't want to become food in someone else's mouth, you can only make yourself stronger. Relying on anyone else's protection is never as good as relying on yourself."
The Silver Fairy spoke calmly.
"You're right, Master."
Chen Lin immediately agreed.
Then he smiled. "Still, with you protecting us, your disciples do feel much more at ease."
"What a glib tongue!"
The Silver Fairy shot Chen Lin a glare with her large, gemstone-like eyes, making Mu Linglong cover her mouth and giggle beside them.
Just as she was about to say something, the Silver Fairy raised her Silver Spear and thrust it toward a distant patch of flowers!
The thrust came without warning or dazzling light, yet it gave Chen Lin a sense of simplicity regained after all embellishments had been stripped away.
As though throughout heaven and earth, this spear alone existed.
Chen Lin felt that if it had been aimed at him, he could think of no way to dodge it. He could only withstand it head-on.
His expression grew grave. He immediately drew back, the Seven-Color Disc dropping into his hand.
