Just as Chen Lin was drawn to the white light and straining to see what it was, a flash appeared beside him, and a figure materialized.
It was Jin Zhentian.
"Greetings, Senior. Do you know what that white light is?"
Chen Lin cupped his hands and asked softly.
Jin Zhentian gazed at the white light and said calmly, "Those are Drifting Bottles. You're a lucky brat, running into them so soon after arriving, and so many at once, too. We just don't know whether they'll drift over here."
"Thank you for clearing that up, Senior."
Chen Lin voiced his thanks.
He had actually guessed as much, but had wanted to confirm it.
Seeing that the other man had no desire to say more, he turned his attention to the white light as well.
By now, the white light had drawn a little closer, and he could vaguely make out individual objects.
There seemed to be a dozen or so.
But the wind and waves at sea were unpredictable, shifting forward and back, left and right. The direction those objects drifted in was impossible to pin down.
They had only just drifted a little closer before moving away again.
Chen Lin glanced at Jin Zhentian.
Sensing his gaze, Jin Zhentian said gravely, "Don't look at me. I can't make them drift over either. If you want to take a gamble, all you can do is pray in your heart."
His words had barely fallen when a fierce gust swept up, churning the waves and scattering that patch of white light.
Some drifted away, while others moved toward the island.
"Oh? There really is hope!"
