Although his cultivation was only at the Peak Void Realm, he could refine top-tier true treasures. His standing rivaled that of a Late True Realm cultivator, and he was also one of the Alliance's elders.
Chen Lin arrived outside the immortal cave.
The guard went in to report his arrival, while he quietly pondered.
A specialized skill was useful no matter the circumstances. He needed to hone his pill refining skills too; not only could they earn him resources, they could also elevate his standing.
"Senior Chen, Elder Kong invites you in."
The guard returned and led Chen Lin into the immortal cave.
The so-called immortal cave was a courtyard built into the mountainside. It was spacious, but very austere.

Chen Lin had only just been led into the courtyard when he heard a thunderous bang.
Then the entire courtyard collapsed. Most of its buildings were reduced to rubble, with only the one in the very center remaining more or less intact.
Even Chen Lin could barely withstand the terrifying wave of energy.
He retreated step after step.
However, when the energy reached the courtyard's perimeter, an invisible barrier stopped it. Nothing could be sensed from outside.
A jade talisman on the guard leading the way lit up.
It formed a protective barrier as well.
Apparently accustomed to this, the guard continued toward the central building.
