The bottle's mouth slowly opened.
The characters instantly found an opening and swarmed toward it, seemingly intent on shooting out all at once. Bound by the Prison-Spirit Bottle, however, they could only poke their heads out a little.
Chen Lin was delighted.
The bottle really was useful. This way, he could safely absorb the essence of the inheritance within the characters. Even if he failed to obtain it, he would not have to worry about a backlash.
As long as he had a moment's breathing room, his internal energy could sever his connection to the characters at any time and suppress them.

He first glanced at the figure on the bottle.

Chen Lin rubbed his chin.
The sight made him wonder whether the Mysterious Woman had deliberately helped him refine this inheritance, rather than simply making a trade.
But he also felt that was unlikely.
If she truly wanted to help him, she could have spoken to him face-to-face. There was no need to be so furtive.
Helping someone was hardly the same as harming them.
