He stepped outside.
Chen Lin raised his head toward the sky.

The three suns hung in three different directions, yet the sky remained dark, as though some energy were blocking their light.
On the side without a sun lay endless darkness.
Chen Lin looked around.
He found himself in a narrow alley, its passage crowded on both sides with clutter that gave off an unpleasant smell.
The entire alley consisted of rows of crude, adjoining houses.
A door appeared every short stretch, with no courtyards; each opened directly onto the passage.
"Creak."
As he was looking around, a door one house over opened, and a large, gleaming head poked out.
The man looked vicious.
Baldhead beckoned to Chen Lin. "Good, you're up. Saves me coming to find you. Get over here and empty my chamber pot, then fetch me a bucket of water."
Chen Lin glanced at him.
Then he looked down at himself.
So the sender had written such arrogant things, yet in reality, he was someone others bullied. Still, that was understandable. One glance at this skin-and-bones frame made it obvious he had little fighting ability.
"Well, well."
Seeing that Chen Lin had not moved, Baldhead came out of his room.
He swaggered closer, swinging his arms.
He sneered. "You little bastard, you dare play dumb with me? Didn't beat you hard enough a few days ago, did I? Then I'll split your hide open again!"
Chen Lin still said nothing.
He glanced around, saw that no one else had appeared in the alley, and raised his hand to point lightly.
A dark gleam flashed.
Baldhead stopped dead in his tracks. His essence, energy, and spirit withered in an instant, and he toppled to the ground.
