They encountered several attacks along the way, but Chen Lin and Hu Sanniang dealt with them all.
The three reached the stone stele without incident.
"Is this what the Primordial Stele looks like?"
Standing beneath the stone stele, Hu Sanniang looked at its utterly blank surface, then turned a puzzled gaze toward Long Xingzhou.
Long Xingzhou shook his head.
"I don't know the details either, but everyone says this stele was made based on the Primordial Stele. Perhaps a special method is needed to perceive the mysteries on it."
"Then did you examine it the last time you came? Was there any danger?"
Hu Sanniang questioned him again.
"I did, but I found nothing and encountered no danger."
Long Xingzhou answered.
Then he immediately added, "But I came with our clan chief. He's a King-tier expert. Just because there was no danger with him here doesn't mean we won't encounter any. We'd better be careful."
"We have to try even if it's dangerous. We can't stay trapped here forever."
Looking utterly fearless, Hu Sanniang began circling the Giant Stele, occasionally flying up to examine its upper sections.
Yet however she looked at it, the stone stele was just an enormous stone slab with nothing special about it. There was not even a single character or pattern on its surface.
"Could someone have switched this thing out?"
After studying it for a while, Hu Sanniang returned to the two men and voiced her suspicions.
"It hasn't been switched out."
Long Xingzhou took up the conversation.
"The stone stele looks just as it did when I last came. Besides our clan chief and me, Yu Qiandi of the Devil Race was here then too. He gained something from this stele, so it can't be a fake."
