Chen Lin looked at the dozen or so uninvited guests before him.
At their head was a half-grown youth dressed in brocade. Behind him stood two girls dressed as maids, one on either side, and beside him was an old man in gray robes who looked like a steward.
Farther back.
There were eight men dressed as household servants whose auras were obscured.
Chen Lin thought back.
He was certain none of these people had appeared in the town before. Nor had they come through the entrance; they had simply descended out of thin air.
"The situation seems to have changed."
Azi's voice transmission sounded in Chen Lin's mind.
Guan Shanyue's and Nan Nuo's followed immediately, both tinged with worry. Although Fu Tianzhou sent no voice transmission, he took two steps back and adopted a guarded stance.
"The entrance is gone."
Azi sent another voice transmission.
Chen Lin immediately looked over and extended his perception. His expression grew even graver.
The entrance had indeed vanished.
The place where the gate had stood was empty, replaced by a hazy space barrier like everywhere else.
"Hey!"
The Brocade-Clad Youth tilted his nostrils skyward.
He gave Chen Lin and the others a sidelong glance and demanded brazenly, "Have you lot been scared witless by this young master's imposing presence? Can't you even speak?"
"Hurry up."
"If you don't hand over your treasures, I'll have you all made into human-meat flatbreads!"
"How should we address you?"
As their nominal leader, Chen Lin naturally had to shoulder the responsibility. He looked at the other party and asked in a low voice.
He did not attack outright.
The main reason was the other party's childlike appearance, which made him suspect a connection to the "natives" of Dandian Paradise. He did not dare act too rashly.
"Me?"
