Chen Lin smiled. "Not at all. But I'm not certain my soul force can activate this item. If the activation fails and you go back on your word, I won't be in a position to insist. So I would rather receive my payment first."
Then he glanced at the other man and added, "With your standing, surely you aren't worried that I'll take the payment and refuse to do the work? Besides, you're the one introducing me to the Mirror Light Pavilion. If I go back on my word, that introduction will be useless anyway."
Manager Huang frowned. He found this troublesome, but could think of no grounds to object.
He had never intended to introduce Chen Lin to the master of the Mirror Light Pavilion. His only aim was to have Chen Lin's soul devoured.
