The Golden Body was the most important transformation for Buddhist cultivators who tempered their bodies, and also their ultimate stage.
The final level of the Vajra Body-Refining Art only brought the body toward a Golden Body, but contained nothing about actually forming one. He did not know whether Nian Kong himself lacked that knowledge or had deliberately left it out.

Once a Golden Body was formed, however, it would bring a qualitative transformation.
