Chen Lin passed through the Road Guide Barrier without trouble and began exploring the area extensively.
When he reached a small hill, his expression suddenly shifted. He looked halfway up the slope, walked over to examine it closely, and broke into a look of delight.
"So it was here!"
Muttering to himself, he immediately broke open the node. Rather than enter directly, however, he reached out to test it, in case the other side did not lead to the Underground Immortal Cave.
After all, a scenario could have more than one node.
But his expression changed almost immediately.
Just like the node in the Bluestone Street scenario, this one had an invisible membrane over its opening, preventing him from entering.
Clearly, some rule was restricting it.
That presented a contradiction.
If this was a Silver Scenario, he should not have been able to pass through the Road Guide Barrier without a Silver Road Guide. But if it was not a Silver Scenario, there should have been nothing preventing him from entering the node.
Where exactly had things gone wrong?
After pondering for a long time, Chen Lin finally concluded that it probably had something to do with the assessment eligibility the Snow-White Goat had mentioned.
Having qualified for the assessment, he could ignore this scenario's Road Guide restrictions for its duration.
He could think of no other explanation.
That brought him back to his original question: what was the assessment's objective?
Chen Lin racked his brains, but he had absolutely no leads.
He shook his head. It seemed the bell could only be untied by the one who had tied it. To break this deadlock, he would have to find the Snow-White Goat.
He continued examining the flocks, starting with the white ones. Finding nothing, he turned to the others.
