"Fi... Buyan, do you know about this?"
As he said that, Mo Buyan looked at me with a serious expression. It seemed he was starting to suspect me.
"No... someone... came..."
"Who came!?"
Mo Buyan suddenly tensed up, while I calmly said, "The... Security Team. Wei Ping."
"Ah~ Oh... I see. Then what did they come here for?"
"They just... came... to ask about... what happened that day."
"Mm, nothing else?"
"No..."
Mo Buyan nodded without saying anything else, then smiled and asked me a question.
"Are you going out to scavenge trash?"
"Mm..."
I nodded. Now that he was back, I should get back to work.
Of course, whether this could even be considered work was still up for debate.
Buyan nodded.
"Perfect timing. I have the day off, so come on. I'll help you scavenge."
As he spoke, he turned and went inside to change into waterproof pants and a pair of rain boots, then came back out with me.
After all these days of cleaning, we'd probably only cleared about a tenth of this huge stretch of beach, right? And that didn't include the heavy trash at the bottom of the water. Even the stuff floating on the surface was already this much.
Buyan ran straight into the sea and hauled trash toward the shore. I used a shovel to load it bit by bit onto the little cart. Then Buyan hurried back to shore, pushed the full cart to the garbage pit, dumped it out, and came back.
That was how we worked. He did most of the work, while I just loaded trash onto the cart. I didn't have to worry about anything else.
At the end of the day, no matter how you looked at it, two people working were much faster than me
