His answer confirmed my suspicion. Yesterday, when I had hidden behind the door to ambush him and Si Zhuang, he had heard
me there. If he could pick out footsteps from more than a meter away in this
noisy lobby, hearing someone dozens of meters away somewhere quiet would be
no problem at all.
That road was only a dozen or so meters wide. There was no doubt he had heard me. He had known I was
there. So why hadn't he reacted? Why had he let me shoot him and Si Zhuang?
"Why? Heh."
