The two of us talked as we walked out of the room. Just before we left, I glanced at the little nurse. She seemed
very surprised. It wasn't Wolf's
attitude that surprised her. She seemed surprised that Wolf was only paying attention to me instead of checking on her, right?
After all, at fifteen or sixteen, people were still pretty competitive. She must have compared herself to me in her mind, right?
"W-wait..."
The little nurse's voice came from behind us. I stopped and looked back at her. She wasn't looking at me at all, though. She was looking at
Wolf, who had turned around.
"Lord Wolf... I... please, save me... I..."
As she spoke, she deliberately tugged her collar open a little.
Honestly... a girl was a girl. That was such a low-level attempt at seduction.
Didn't she realize that a man like Wolf wouldn't be short on women? What kind of woman hadn't he seen?
So many women in this city would have loved to throw themselves at him, and they couldn't get anywhere. What was she trying to accomplish?
"Lord Wolf, am I... not as good as this woman?"
That question left me completely dumbfounded. Weren't you trying to seduce Wolf? What did I have to do with it?
But that wasn't the point. Wolf answered seriously.
"I'll save you, but you're not as good as her."
Wolf's low, steady voice echoed through the empty corridor. Hearing his answer gave me a headache.
Didn't this guy know how strong a young girl's pride could be?

Sure enough, the girl immediately turned to look at me, her eyes full of quiet resentment.
