"Child!! My child!!"
"No! My mom isn't here! She's still outside!"
"Move! My little brother didn't make it inside. Move!"
I was momentarily stunned when I saw three people barge out from inside. The one in front was a burly man with a
face full of rugged, prominent features.
He looked fierce, and his head was shaved bald. One glance told you he wasn't someone to mess with.
Behind him followed a boy who looked no older than fourteen or fifteen, his face full of panic.
Last came a middle-aged woman who still had her charm.
It wasn't that I was staring at the woman. It was just that, after the apocalypse, women—whether they'd survived from before
or been born afterward—had faces that were
slowly changing. My guess was that the virus affected the body's subconscious, allowing it to gradually
change a person's appearance.
Men, however, didn't seem to change much, while women all became very beautiful.
This woman looked to be in her thirties, still beautiful and alluring. She must have been alive before the apocalypse, right?
You could tell her age at a glance.
The three of them came out together. The bald man leading the way seemed to have some standing at the base. The soldiers
tried to stop him, but they weren't too forceful,
and the big bald man charged ahead regardless, leaving the soldiers unsure whether to stop him.
"No! You can't go! The typhoon has completely taken over outside. You wouldn't have enough lives to spare if you went out now!
Brother Hu! You can't go!"
The soldiers blocked the bald man, doing their best to explain, but his eyes were filled with worry and he paid them no
heed. He thrust out a hand, shoved one of the soldiers aside, and strode forward.
