The water in the pool flowed straight underground. The entrance to the water
flow was blocked, and I hadn't gone in to explore.
After all, I couldn't see anything in the darkness, so exploring would have been pointless.
Wind came down from above and blew straight toward the cave entrance. The ventilation was pretty good.
I wound my way back to where I'd been, planning to take a nap, only to find that little brat Hu Shuo had taken over my
spot. He was lying right in the middle of a whole bunch of little
tigers, snoring away.
There was even a smug little smile on his face.
Was this... a declaration of war?
Heh... how childish.
After thinking about it, I couldn't help smiling helplessly. I covered the little cubs with the tiger hide, then walked over to a pile of
hay and lay down.
With my hands behind my head, I thought about what to do next. That cow probably wouldn't last much longer. These tiger cubs could really eat.
City
They'd eaten a twentieth of it in just one meal today. At this rate, they'd finish it off in three or four days at most.
If their mother had still been alive, the nourishment she provided, along with this backup food supply, would have been enough. But she probably hadn't
expected a typhoon, had she?
Unfortunately, what was going to happen had happened. I couldn't just stay here waiting to die either. If this typhoon didn't pass for five or six days,
was I supposed to stay holed up here for five or six days?
That was impossible. The beef wouldn't last us that long. We still had plenty of water, but people couldn't fill their stomachs on water alone.
But the wind outside was too strong.
