I furrowed my brow slightly... Could it be...
After hesitating for a moment, I looked around. There was a military camp to my left, and it probably had a kitchen. I headed inside. The camp was bound to be deserted.
Protecting this blue gel-like substance, I went straight to the kitchen. It was easy to find; two big characters on the door read "Cafeteria."
Once inside, I took out some salt and found an iron basin. I put the substance inside, then caught some rainwater. Just as the gel was about to dissolve, I sprinkled in a handful of salt.
Sure enough, once the salt concentration in the water reached a certain level, the gel stopped dissolving.
In other words... the reason this stuff could remain active inside the human body was the salt.
It looked like this stuff could survive in seawater.
Could it be a marine organism?
I couldn't figure out anything else yet. I'd better keep moving.
I wanted to reach Orange Isle before noon.
With that in mind, I walked out of the camp. But the moment I stepped outside, I spotted something useful.
A car.
Having a car would make things much easier.
I found a spare key at the guard post, got into a random military-green SUV, and drove straight out of the camp, heading east.
As I drove, I turned on the radio. There weren't any stations, so I switched to music instead. Listening to it, I thought about the experiment I'd just done.
This transparent blue gel-like substance could survive in liquids with a certain amount of salt, and the human body just happened to have those conditions.
Listening to music, I drove toward East City. There wasn't much along the road. The closer I got to Orange Isle, the more high-rise
