After hesitating for a moment, she took the shotgun from her back
and gripped it in her hands before continuing onward.
Just then, a sudden burst of gunfire rang out in the distance.
"Rat-tat-tat-tat~"
She didn't know what the sound was, but it was obvious someone was there. As the gunfire rang out, roars came from inside the houses and
buildings. Some were low and hoarse, others shrill and breaking, but every one of them was unpleasant and grating.
Frowning, Fang Yuxuan tightened her grip on the gun and hurried toward the gunfire. She couldn't be sure whether there were monsters there,
but at least there were people.
The town was still eerily quiet, while the distant gunfire continued. As she drew closer, the sound
of vehicles reached her ears. At the same time,
hoarse growls rang out again and again.
"Is that... the sound of a Mutant Monster?"
She had never heard a cry like that before, but the girl was certain it wasn't a human roar.
The sound seemed to be coming from the right-hand corner of a distant street. After hesitating briefly, the girl accelerated, leapt into the air, and
reached out. With a sharp slap, she grabbed the eaves.
Then she swung herself up onto the roof. Her feet landed on the sheet-metal rooftop, and she sped across
one rooftop after another, leaping toward
that direction.
Someone without the girl's exceptional strength and coordination could never run across these slanted rooftops.
Even she had to be extremely
careful. One wrong step and she'd fall straight down.
The buildings were mostly only one or two stories tall,
but a fall would still hurt plenty.
As she ran, the girl hesitated, then put the shotgun back on the clip beside her backpack and casually took out her M4A1.
