Only three pellets hit it, but the tremendous impact still sent the berserker staggering backward.
Seeing those enormous feet stumble back before her, she seized that sliver of hope, planted one hand on the floor, and pushed herself up,
drawing in her waist as her feet quickly
tucked beneath her. Then she kicked off hard!
Smack!
The girl shot backward. At the same time, the berserker endured the searing pain of those three pellets and strode
after her.
Her hairpin had snapped at some point. Her long hair streamed in the wind as she flew backward, and while she retreated
through the air, she worked the pump of her shot-
gun. With a click, a twelve-gauge shell slid into the chamber.
The berserker had already raised its one remaining massive claw high.
"Roar!!!"
Its throat-rending roar echoed through the corridor, but... to Yuxuan, it was hardly a threat.
Her expression remained calm as she
landed and raised the shotgun, aiming at the enormous head of the monster standing over two meters tall.
Die!
The girl made no sound. She merely opened her mouth and mouthed those words, her slender finger
pulling the trigger at that very instant!
Bang!!
The shotgun shell fired, a plastic casing shooting out of the barrel. The instant it emerged, it burst open, and over a dozen lead pellets hurtled
toward the berserker's head. In the blink of an eye, every one of them slammed into its skull.
Crunch, splat!
The pellets shattered bone, smashed into its eye sockets, and tore through its skull, destroying everything in their path.
Carrying tremendous force, they burst out
through the back of the berserker's head, spraying great gouts of brain matter.
Its skull, riddled with more than a dozen holes, could no longer hold its shape and burst apart.
