Isabelle even took two steps back without thinking. The casual way she had been sitting grew restrained.
She pressed her legs together, adopting a hint of a lady's poise.

Yuxuan noticed something was off with the two of them and frowned. Yet that tiny change in
her expression suddenly made the two people across from her
tense up.
Yuxuan looked down at the seasonings she had brought with her. To prepare for anything unexpected, she
had packed plenty of supplies. Nearly the entire middle section of the bullet-shaped vehicle
was filled with them. Apart from food, she had brought the most seasonings.
After all, Yuxuan loved food and could hardly go without meat. But roasting meat with nothing but salt would be miserable.
So she had brought plenty of seasonings. But... she had never imagined that cumin alone would make
these two react like this.
"What's wrong with you two?"
The moment Rogers saw displeasure on Yuxuan's face, he grew nervous. An ingratiating smile appeared almost instinctively
on his face. Isabelle
reacted the same way. Father and daughter answered in unison, "Nothing."
But whatever was on their faces, it certainly wasn't "nothing."
Their sudden change brought a frightening possibility to Yuxuan's mind.
Judging by their reactions, she had a rough idea. Still, to be certain, she
asked, "Are seasonings
expensive these days?"
Father and daughter exchanged a glance, as though passing a message between them. Then Rogers turned to Fang Yuxuan, a trace of
awe in his eyes, and nodded.
"Very expensive..."
Rogers put particular emphasis on "very." Yuxuan understood at once: to ordinary
people, seasonings must cost an astronomical
sum.
She nodded and hesitated, then took a heap of small glass bottles from the bag beside her. They held soy sauce,
light and dark soy sauce, aged vinegar
