Clang!
The blade of my modao must have picked up plenty of scratches, but now was no time to worry about it. Antique or not, without anyone left alive, it was just an object.
I leaped high and caught the security bars on the third floor. At the same time, my right hand caught the modao flying toward me with a thump. Using its momentum,
I pulled myself up another half meter, but that was as far as I could go.
Even magnetic force had its limits.
Luckily, I was now about ten meters above the ground. If each floor was three meters high, that put me
somewhere between nine and ten meters up, right?
On second thought, that still was not safe. I needed a room with security bars and a sturdy
security door, somewhere I could shut myself away.
Getting out afterward would probably be a pain, but I could not worry about that now.
The top floor had security bars too, but I did not have a key!
Wait... Could I use magnetism to open the door?
Yes, that should work.
Unlike a key, I would not have to line up every pin. If I pushed them all aside with magnetism,
the door should open.
Five Hundred Volts
Nothing unexpected happened. Just like that, I settled into the room for the time being... Or rather, I was trapped. Zombies were climbing outside the window, but
they could only make it as high as the fourth floor.
Now that the Zombies followed a pattern, they were not necessarily as capable in every respect as the ones from before.
Back then, Zombies threw themselves at me without any regard for their lives. They did not form a human pyramid; they simply piled their bodies up
until the heap reached
