The Desire Mother-Tree's possessiveness toward the Shadow World was not actually wrong. After all, it truly was the Source Quality it had possessed from the moment of its birth.
Every Old One was born from a fragment of the Primordial Creator's consciousness, and its Extraordinary Characteristics had been divided along with it.
Even a child born from the Primordial Creator like the Desire Mother-Tree was, in theory, like Adam—uh, the Adam born from the True Creator—a personality deliberately separated out, and it had been accompanied by the Shadow World from birth.
So in theory, every Old One born from the Primordial Creator had a Source Quality inherently corresponding to it. Other than the Primordial Creator, no existence possessed a stronger claim of ownership than they did.
But the problem was, that ownership existed only in theory.
When it was not actually in its hands, even if the Desire Mother-Tree called the Shadow World "Shadow World," it would not answer.
Someone was openly trying to summon something that was supposedly its own, which had already infuriated the Desire Mother-Tree. Then, upon discovering that the other half of the path contained the other half of the Shadow World, it was instantly stirred up.
Its twisted, tree-trunk-like mass of flesh moved at once as it stepped onto that path of its own accord.
It wanted to see who was bold enough to do this!
