As the Human Alliance developed, it naturally could not have consisted of only the handful of people at headquarters. There were always those running around all over Earth doing practical work, and compared to headquarters personnel, they were the majority.

That was precisely why so many people had ultimately retreated to the Hanging Gardens, even resorting to life-support pods...

When it had originally been planned as a fallback, people were supposed to be able to live normally in the Hanging Gardens, including farming, entertainment, and so on.

But then they looked at the numbers. Forget doing anything else—whether the Hanging Gardens could even fit that many people was uncertain.

In the end, they had managed to cram everyone in, but normal life was out of the question. Everyone had to lie in life-support pods.

The Undetectable Extension Charm was indeed useful, but it merely expanded space. It could not conjure land or resources out of thin air, so everyone could only lie in life-support pods to minimize the consumption of daily necessities.

Yet even with everyone in life-support pods, the upright pods had nearly filled the Hanging Gardens, because what if the pods were placed within a space created by the Undetectable Extension Charm and the charm happened to fail...

Fortunately, those life-support pods used Ancient Magic and did not need electricity. Otherwise, wires alone would have covered the Hanging Gardens, and a single overload fire could have wiped out the Human Alliance's remaining forces.

Now that these people were being unfrozen one by one, where to house them had become another problem.
