A Difficult Choice

"The future Buddha... Wu Tian really knew how to paint a pretty picture."

Adam had naturally heard Wu Tian's words.

Given Wu Tian's character, he had not said that casually. It was probably true: if Adam was willing to work with him, then once Wu Tian became Buddha, Adam would become the future Buddha.

Unfortunately, that pie was impossible to eat. It was not that the one drawing the pie was unwilling to bake it, but that before it could even come out of the oven, someone would overturn the stove.

Besides, it did not suit Adam's tastes. He had no interest in becoming some future Buddha.

Not to mention that he was not interested in being Buddha to begin with...

Maitreya had originally been Mount Lingshan's future Buddha, yet not only would Wukong become Buddha in the future, but Tathagata had merely reincarnated rather than died. Perhaps when Wukong stepped down to become the Buddha of the Past, Tathagata's second incarnation would ascend the throne again. Maitreya suddenly had two people cutting in line ahead of him.

"Come to think of it, Maitreya was the greatest victim of Wu Tian's tribulation."

Adam could not help but mock inwardly:

"Maybe Maitreya should get himself a White Lotus and rebel against Mount Lingshan too. He could make his debut as a duo with Wu Tian's Black Lotus."

Jokes aside, where he should go now was indeed worth considering. He had come out to find resources that would help him become immortal faster, so how had Lord Lao ended up throwing him into another Journey to the West story?

Were the immortal cultivation resources in the two worlds not about the same?
