Lord Huai's Cave Abode had no gate in the strict sense, only a vast, open cave mouth.
The cave entrance, dozens of zhang tall, resembled a monster poised to devour someone. It spat out nine thick chains that disappeared into the distant darkness.
"Lord Huai, this humble Daoist Huiming offers his respects."
Adam stood at the entrance to the cave abode and sent his voice inside with Magical Power, thoughtfully changing his form of address according to the words inscribed above the abode.
"Pfft—"
A snicker came from within the cave abode, and a chain curled toward Adam.
"Zhenwu's friend, why pretend to be so refined?"

What kind of image did Zhenwu have in Wuzhiqi's eyes, exactly?
Come to think of it, Zhenwu had said that jar of Huai Wine was won from Wuzhiqi in a wager. So what had they wagered on?
Without resisting, Adam was dragged by the chain before Wuzhiqi.
The instant he passed through the entrance, Adam felt as though he had broken through the surface of water. The interior of this Water Mansion was surprisingly not an environment completely filled with water.
Adam recalled Zhenwu mentioning that the Lord of the Huai River had not cultivated and attained the Dao in water. His water-controlling divine abilities were innate.
So Wuzhiqi was not actually a water monkey?
As the chain steadily retracted, Adam finally saw Wuzhiqi's true form.
Just as the legends described, this Lord of the Huai River had a white head and long mane, snow-white teeth and golden claws, an iron chain around his neck, and a golden bell hanging from his nose. His body stood more than five zhang tall, yet against the equally gigantic stone table and chairs, he did not seem out of
