Adam curled his five fingers inward, slowly forming a precious lotus with a black-to-gold gradient. At its center was not the flame of a heart-lamp, but a black-and-white lion lying with its eyes shut. At some point, the Sun's True Fire had already gone out.
"Hmm...?"
Even after the precious lotus closed completely, Adam did not get the person or event he had been waiting for.
By his original estimate, there had been a ninety percent chance that this move would be interrupted midway, with some old man or old woman appearing and shouting, "Daoist Master, stay your hand..."
Then they would say that the Heavenly Court's campaign against the Northern Sky Demon Alliance was destined by fate, that this lion was their mount and had been sent to bring the matter about, and that they needed to take it back, or something along those lines.
He had even worked out how he would extort them based on their identity, yet no one had appeared?
Could this lion really have been an accident?
