The next day, Adam found Sun Wukong on Fangcun Mountain and also learned why he had not noticed him before.
The monkey was now dressed in a Daoist robe. He bowed, swept the grounds, carried water, and chopped firewood just like the Daoists on the mountain. Aside from his appearance, he barely displayed any monkey-like traits.
Looking closely, Adam saw that he truly was an immortal embryo nurtured by Heaven and Earth. His monkey fur gleamed like golden threads; though short in stature, his limbs were long, his face sunken and his cheeks slight, yet there was a touch of refinement between his brows and eyes.
There was no reason to strike up a conversation out of nowhere. Adam maintained his usual routine in his small courtyard, but after more than ten days, Sun Wukong came to find him first.
"Senior Brother Huiming—Senior Brother Huiming—"
Adam had been tempering his body. Hearing the commotion outside, his muscles and bones shook, issuing a string of muffled thunderclaps. Then he exhaled deeply and walked into the front courtyard.
"Why all the noise?"
He had delayed only briefly, but the sounds outside had already grown somewhat rowdy.
