At this stage, contestants not only had to identify the names and medicinal properties of the ten ingredients, but also explain their uses based on those properties.
For example, was an ingredient poisonous or nonpoisonous?
If it was poisonous, could it be used to refine ten poison pills? And apart from refining poison pills, did it have any other uses?
If it was nonpoisonous, what kind of pills could it be used to refine? Pills that raised one's cultivation realm, increased the number of Law Pills, or detoxified and enhanced Divine Sense?
And so on. The contestants had to examine every aspect of an ingredient and uncover all its uses.
That was a difficult task.
Once they stated an ingredient's effects, those claims had to be viable. Any incorrect answer would cost them points in the final evaluation, affecting their final score.
The contest to identify medicinal ingredients was judged just like the third stage: the contestants who listed the most properties and uses correctly would earn the highest scores.
