The Gluttony Urge Sweeping In

The bar's windows were shut just before the Aliens could rush inside. The people indoors hadn't seen how those outside had died, but it didn't take much imagination to know it had been gruesome. A confined space and a narrow field of view only magnified their fear, and when someone shouted, "I'd rather kill myself than be eaten alive," one person actually threw himself onto a sharp object inside the bar!

The bar was surrounded by Mutant Beasts again. Just like before, they propped themselves up from the side and kept pushing the building toward the cliff.

Uncle Guan was still outside. With the Aliens in pursuit, he moved farther away from the bar, then released a transparent ring containing six floating diamond-shaped objects. Once it left his hand, the ring hovered in the air and quickly spread out. Each diamond flew a hundred meters before stopping. White arcs of light then shot from each one, automatically connecting it to the next, until they formed a ring about two hundred meters in diameter.

The ring hovering in midair then plunged down, like a circular guillotine slicing into the horde of Aliens. Its descent alone cut every Mutant Beast beneath it in half. It then spun rapidly, a meter above the ground, circling Uncle Guan in a perfect ring and carving up the Mutant Beasts in the area as easily as chopping vegetables. It even sliced apart two gigantic Aliens. They were so large, however, that they didn't die immediately after their limbs were severed.

Of course, such a useful item couldn't last long. But for a full minute, Uncle Guan nearly killed half the Aliens around the bar. When the ring vanished, only a few lucky Mutant Beasts remained near him, and he dispatched them with one shot each.
