The Spatial Portal in the Spiritual World did more than simply open a door to separate two points. It created a genuine spatial divide. Normally, after opening a door and passing through it, the place you emerged from would never be the space you had seen beyond the door. It would be somewhere else entirely.
How large and complex a spatial divide a "door" could create depended on the mental strength of the person who had created the Spiritual World. Xu Huo could currently use a "door" only to widen or shorten the distance between spaces. On different floors, or on opposite sides of a wall, it could only let him pass through. The space created by his Spiritual World wasn't on Bai Kou's level, nor was it as powerful as space in the true sense of the word, so its actual effect depended on whether his opponent was easily disrupted. Mr. Kang was clearly not someone who was easily affected by mental interference.
