The Cannibal Player didn't just sit back and wait to die. A faint flash appeared in front of him, and the white gauze was instantly sliced apart. Still kneeling, he turned around and slapped both hands against the floor of the carriage. A giant Man-Eating Flower rapidly sprouted, its thorn-covered petals snapping at the female Player!
The female Player calmly dodged the attack, but the sticky fluid sprayed by the Man-Eating Flower burned away her sleeve. She glanced down, then flicked out several crescent-shaped artifacts, each about as thick as a finger.
The small, knife-like artifacts spun rapidly through the carriage, homing in on the Cannibal Player and forcing him out of the carriage.
All she had to do now was close the carriage door, and the fight would be over for the time being. But neither side intended to do that. Once outside, the Cannibal Player shoved a pill into his mouth, then dropped to all fours. In the blink of an eye, scale-like growths appeared on his exposed hands and feet, and his build grew slightly larger. It was clear his strength had increased considerably.
He was faster, too. Just as the female Player was about to enter the Transfer Carriage, he suddenly leaped in front of the door and slammed into her head-on. Her Defense Artifact absorbed some of the impact, but she was still knocked back into the carriage. Before she could regain her footing, the Cannibal Player was already closing in again!
The Cannibal Player also seemed to have gotten smarter. He knew that touching her body made his muscles go weak, so he put on a Protective Suit. Protected by elastic fabric with some resistance to corrosion, he could make full use of his advantages.
