Four people sat at Xu Huo's table: him, Ye Bingxin, the buzz-cut Player, and a middle-aged man.
Hearing the two Players say that, all four merely glanced up at them. The middle-aged man, whose face was half-hidden in his collar, raised his head, revealing a chin covered in burn scars. "Could you move to another carriage?"
The man had something wrong with his throat. His voice was hoarse and unpleasant, but paired with his expression, it was quite intimidating. The two Players seemed a little wary of him.
The two left, though not because of what the middle-aged man had said. Someone in the carriage ahead had called out to them—it was one of their companions.
They didn't go far. They spoke with their companions in the Transfer Carriage, repeatedly glancing at the carriages in front and behind them.
"I have a bad feeling about this," the Player in the hat said quietly.
Before long, the two Players returned to the carriage with two more companions. The four found a table, ordered enough food to cover it, and wolfed it down, completely unconcerned by the stares around them.
The Player in the hat's premonition was clearly right. The group had originally been scattered across different carriages, but after meeting up, they had regrouped in two separate carriages, with one carriage between them.
There was only one carriage between the two groups.
Even a fool could sense that something was wrong. The male Player Ye Bingxin had divined might die on this train left the carriage before lights-out and hid alone in the Transfer Carriage.
The other Players didn't leave, but they took precautions in advance. The Player in the hat, especially, seemed worried that last night's events would happen again. He used a mechanical artifact to seal the windows.
