The slender blade gleamed with a cold light. It flashed briefly across the air, and the Bald Player's head was severed from his body.
After the man died, Xu Huo frowned instead, his gaze falling on the buzz-cut player who had emerged from the maze wall. "That guy actually didn't save you."
The buzz-cut player knew he was a tough opponent and sneered. "You said it yourself—we're being held hostage. When have you ever seen a kidnapper care about the family members paying the ransom?"
Xu Huo immediately lost interest. He stepped into the spatial passage and appeared right in front of the buzz-cut player. "Looks like there's no reason for you to stay alive, either."
"What a touching farewell!" the buzz-cut player suddenly shouted. The instant his Ability took effect and Xu Huo's movements froze, a whirlwind rose around his feet, and he vanished from the spot.
"Pretty quick on his feet." Xu Huo calmly put away his knife and returned to the maze passage where he'd been.
The fighting on the other side had been much more intense. The entire passage floor and parts of the maze walls had been wrecked. Of the three players left, the woman who had been providing ranged support was dead. The remaining two were still fighting Jiang Zifeng. All three had injuries, but none were serious.
Seeing Xu Huo return, Jiang Zifeng wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and said without looking back, "Old Xu, don't help. Today, I'm going to beat these two bastards to death myself!"
