The two Cannibal Players had been driven over by three other players. When they came face-to-face with Xu Huo's group, the three abandoned them like hot potatoes and hurried away.
The Cannibal Players, who had all but lost their senses, didn't care who was fighting whom. Everyone alive in front of them was a target, so they turned and charged at Xu Huo's group.
"Why are there suddenly so many Cannibal Players?" Mu Yan caught up and said. "We're already in the second half of the maze. They should have some cards, too. If we kill them, the cards in our hands might all get replaced."
That was why Xu Huo hadn't killed anyone.
"Lose them." Xu Huo crossed to the end of the passage in a single stride, pulling Mu Yan along with him.
The short-haired woman and the other two had been held up. The Black Shirt Player had a powerful movement item. Carrying himself and his two companions, he shot past Xu Huo and Mu Yan and called back from far ahead, "We'll go on ahead!"
The masked man used a barrier item to trap the three Cannibal Players. Once free, he quickly entered another passage.
"The maze's layout has changed." After they had passed through two more passages, Mu Yan suddenly said, "Could our positions have been moved, too?"
The finish line was at the center of the maze. Starting from any position, as long as they kept their direction, they could eventually reach it no matter how many detours they took. The question was whether the maze's overall orientation had changed without them noticing when it shifted. If it had, they could keep following their original direction forever and never reach the finish line.
Xu Huo had noticed that possibility too, but in all the
