But no matter where he ran, Xu Huo was right behind him like a shadow. He never showed himself, only occasionally making a sound, giving him a smack, or kicking him. It was almost gentle.
Yet even this was enough to leave the Player following him uneasy and confused. If Xu Huo had come out and fought him openly, that would have been one thing—at least then there would be a winner and a loser. But he remained unseen and followed him with ease, which showed there was a huge gap in strength between them. He wasn't even killing him, just toying with him. It was clearly an eye for an eye!
The Player spent the whole way fighting the air with his wits. He used a good number of items and Abilities, but couldn't even find out where Xu Huo was. After nearly half an hour of this, he finally couldn't take it anymore and shouted, "Come out and fight me if you've got the guts! What kind of man hides like a coward?"
The only response was quiet air, followed by a drop of water landing on his forehead to show that Xu Huo was there.
The Player couldn't stand it anymore and simply gave up fighting back. First he cursed Xu Huo out; after catching his breath, he started begging for mercy. When neither tactic got a reaction, he tried to slink away. But after Xu Huo found him with pinpoint accuracy, he had no choice but to say, "Brother, you win. You can kill me or do whatever you want—could you at least make it quick and stop torturing me? I only peeked at you. It's not like I did anything heinous!"
"Really?" someone replied, but it was a woman's voice.
"Really, really!" The Player raised
