The five-line staves filling the space automatically twisted together in the air, forming two barriers that blocked the attacks. After two faint impacts, the Gentleman Player turned around—and saw Xu Huo right behind him!

Their eyes met, and both saw the killing intent in the other's gaze. As the black blade fell, the barrier of staves rapidly thickened to half a meter!

This time, the black blade couldn't cut through the staves, but neither could the staves fully block the blade. At close range, the two exchanged blows with their items several times in quick succession before retreating.

Beyond the sealed room where the cultivation beds were kept lay an operating chamber. The space expanded dramatically, but it was still part of the sealed complex. Though the sealed space cut off outside sounds, faint vibrations still made it possible to sense the players outside swiftly dealing with the "mutinous" robots.

The Gentleman Player's expression darkened. He had only just shifted when Xu Huo stopped him. "You'd better not do that."

The Gentleman Player looked at him. "You can stop me?"

"I can't," Xu Huo admitted. "But right now, you've only lost a tiny fraction of your robots. You still have plenty of time and manpower to get things done. If you use the robots to kill the hostages or blow them all up, you'll lose control of every robot."

He watched the man across from him and smiled faintly. "Or you could consider killing me first."

The Gentleman Player's cheek twitched. Wasn't that what he had just been trying to do? This C-class player was simply more troublesome than he'd expected.

As Xu Huo had said, there was still plenty of time. A few hostages didn't matter, but whatever happened in the end, he would need to answer for it.
